Demolishing of Flats in Kerala- Marad Flats Demolishing

Two of the four flats of the tree that were ordered to be demolished by the Supreme Court for violating the Coast Guard Act fell to the ground. The blast destroyed a 19-storey HUO Holy Faith flat and a 16-storey alpha-serine double-flat complex. The timetable for the demolition of the flat had changed slightly.

After months of planning and inspection, the two flats of the tree were successfully completed with the help of government systems and the country's best technicians.

The first siren was sounded at 10:30 am, just ahead of the flat demolition. Prior to this, the two-flats had evacuated the entire 200-meter radius. At the same time, police blocked out all the small crossroads in the area. Thousands of people came to see the flats collapsing. The police tied the ropes and kept them within a certain distance.

As soon as the third siren sounded at eleven o'clock, the plan was to demolish the Holyfeet HUO flat and demolish the Alpha Sarin flat within the next five minutes. However, the Indian Navy helicopter, which arrived in Maradana at 10.45 am, was delayed because of the blast. At eleven o'clock the helicopter returned and the second siren was ringing. With this, the Thevara-Kundannur bridge was blocked by the police. After a final inspection, the police said they were all under control and then ordered a special control room prepared by the Marad municipal council for a third siren.

By 11.18 the third siren was ringing and by 11.19 the HTO fleet had a long line of explosions. In seconds, the building collapsed, then covered with dust all over the area. The building, which was expected to hit the ground floor, was shocked by the heavy downpour. Firefighters were able to control the dust by splashing water, but within five minutes, the siren erupted in the Alpha Sarin.

The first blast took place at 11.44 am when a small flat exploded in the twin flats of Alpha Sarin. The second fleet crashed in a matter of seconds. When the HUO flat was demolished, not much of the building was spilled. But when the densely populated Alpha Sarin exploded, many of its remains are believed to have fallen into the lake. The blast took place in the backwaters of the area.

After demolishing both flats and confirming that there were no safety concerns, the final siren sounded at 12 noon. After this, the officers went to the demolition flats.

According to Vijay Steelstad spokesman, who took the contract to demolish the building, 10 to 20 percent of the debris may fall into the lake. With hundreds of houses and other buildings around the Alpha Sar, the extent of the damage could only be determined by expert inspection. With both flats being successfully demolished, the Thevara-Kundannur road and other roads in the area were opened to traffic. The preliminary conclusion is that the Thevara Bridge is safe. Though there are reports of slight shaking in the adjoining buildings, there are no other problems. Only after inspections by the police and the fire force in the area, the public is allowed to enter the area.
