Tottenham beat Southampton- FA Cup

Tottenham beat Southampton and set up a home tie against Norwich City in the FA Cup fourth-round replay.

After Nathan Redmond's attempt was overtaken by Hugo Lloris, the Spurs went ahead when Shane Long overcame a shot from defender Jack Stephens of Nongale to take a 1-1 lead.
Danny Ings curled a shot to overtake Lorris to put the Saints ahead, but Lucas Maura got a strike from 18 yards.
Spurs got the equalizer when Son Hyung-min converted a penalty in the 87th minute.
Southampton goalkeeper Angus Gunn was fouled after he created an excellent pass opportunity from substitute Dele Alli.
For the Saints, midfielder James Ward-Ploss carried a knee injury to the stretcher in the first half.
The Norwich Spurs will host the bottom of the Premier League in the fifth round of the midweek match on March 3, 4 or 5.
The FA Cup represents the best chance for Tottenham to win their first trophy since 2008 - when they finished fifth in the Premier League, they exited the Carabao Cup in League Two Colchester in September and will face a Champions League final-16 draw at the Bundesliga, Germany.
They had to come from behind to force a replay against Middlesbrough in the third round, and they had to dig deep again to see Southampton score two goals in the final 12 minutes.
Unlike Liverpool, Tottenham have a strong side in a match that takes place during their two-week mid-season Premier League break - their under-23 side reply to Shrewsbury's 1-0 win in reply to the fourth round on Tuesday.
Boss Jose Mourinho was without the injured Giovanni La Selso and Eric Lamela and unqualified Steven Bergwijn, who was on the bench during Sunday's 2-0 league win over Manchester City last Sunday.
Despite being 24 hours less prepared than Southampton, Nombele's effort was wide open as the hosts moved on, a big change from Stephens to the wrong foot Angus Gun.
Mourinho would have been unhappy with Loris, as the ball could be moved to Long's path to draw the balance from eight yards.
In the second half, the French goalkeeper amended the game with excellent reflex stops, turning Janice Westergaard's close-range header into the bar.
It looked as if the Saints would win when Nathan Redmond scored on a fine run, but the Maura 2-2 lead only lasted six minutes.
Allie released a nice pass zone - after releasing the gun, South Korea converted a penalty and dramatically increased the Spurs to the final 16.
Ward-Ploss had a bad night for the Saints
As for Southampton, Ward-Pluss was injured in the 37th minute when he tried to block a clearance from Tottenham's Ryan Sessegnon.
The 25-year-old midfielder, who played every minute of the Saints' 25 Premier League matches this season, was given oxygen after being treated for an injury to his right knee.
After a long stoppage, Sessegnan got upset and took Ward-Plows.
This was a brutal blow for the Saints, who described a strong team as trying to reach the fifth round for only the third time in 10 years.
Speaking after the match, Southampton boss Ralph Hassenhutt said the injury to Ward-Pleas was not so serious, and that he thought the injury would "result in a knee injury".
"I think it's not the worst thing," he said, "that's a good message for me. If we had won the game and lost James, it would have been awful. ”
